13. AI and Automated Processing
ScannerWire uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to process data. Specifically:
- Audio Transcription: Public radio scanner audio is processed by Amazon Transcribe to
generate text transcriptions. These transcriptions may be inaccurate.
- Content Enrichment: AI models (Amazon Bedrock / Claude) analyze transcriptions to
generate headlines, summaries, severity ratings, location data, and incident classifications. This
content is generated automatically and is not reviewed by humans.
- Event Correlation: Automated systems correlate related radio transmissions into
aggregated incident reports. This correlation may be incorrect.
No automated decision-making is performed that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly
significantly affects you. AI processing is used solely to present public safety information in
an accessible format.
14. Third-Party Audio Content
Scanner audio recordings available through the Service originate from publicly available radio
transmissions and third-party audio providers (including but not limited to Broadcastify). ScannerWire:
- Does not create, control, or verify the content of radio transmissions
- Is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of scanner audio content
- Makes no representations about the completeness or timeliness of audio recordings
- May remove or restrict access to audio content at any time without notice

referral sources
